Today At Work – Tap vs Toddler, Drink At Own Risk

Today at work I…

  • Stared down a toddler. He was sitting in a cart, and every 10 seconds he would shout at the top of his little lungs “MOMMY”. He wasn’t alone in the cart. His grandmother was there with him, and his mom was no more than 20 feet away. Because I deemed his belligerent screaming unnecessary, I took advantage of the fact that he was watching me, and I stared him down. It shut him up good.
  • Drank a mountain dew ‘fuel’ from the vending machine. I was aiming for the iced tea button, but I missed. I drank it far too quickly and almost immediately got a headache from the caffeine in it. The I noticed the ‘best before’ date: NO 20 06. Holy crap, it was 4 months past due. A little while later it hit me, and I spent the rest of my shift going in and out of the bathroom. I can still feel it churning in me.
